Davey Bickford has been developing and producing initiators for automotive passive safety systems (airbags, seat belt devices.) since the early 1990's.

Our main customers are AUTOLIV, TAKATA and TRW.

Initiators, as first stage of the pyrotechnic chain, play a key role in our customer safety systems by transforming low energy electric signal into highly amplified pyrotechnic energy.

In the case of a crash, initiators are triggered by the electronic controller unit. Initiators must then function in a fraction of a millisecond.

Combination of gases and/or temperature increase effects are tailored and controlled for the most reliable ignition and functioning of our customers devices: inflators for airbag applications, gas generators for seat belt applications (belt tensioner, retractor.), various pyromechanisms for an ever wider range of applications (active head rest, lift hood, battery disconnector.).

Our products meet the requirements of the most severe specifications, with reliability demand taking into account life time exceeding 15 years
